HOME AGAIN HOME AGAIN JIGGITY JIG. oh she was sooo funny at lunch. think she died and went to heaven with each bite of pattys homemade soup. she ate very well . she got home at 1030am . 1045am the life alert people came and i had to leave for a haircut. when i got back at 12 the home health nurse was there. now i left cuase the brought out the bills and checks for patty to help with . i will check before i go to work. but so far so good. she already says she cant wait for her morning coffee. thanks for all your prayers. the last 24 days have been a long one. hopefully march will be better. love to all and especially julia my cousin. her mother my aunt was just put on hospice for brain cancer. doesnt sound like she will be with us much longer. I LOVE YOU AUNT PEGGY.

HOW DO YOU SPELL WHOA. n a n c y b e l l. She is back to her self, she walked all the way to therapy and back today and yesterday. and her oxygen level stays 95 to 98. without oxygen. and i walked with her today down to the therapy room and she had only slight shortness of breath. she said from day one she is leaving on the weekend. they all say that but she has her irish strong will coming out today. the therapy is thrown for a loop. i told her they usually stay 2 weeks. doesnt matter. so the team is going to work hard to get mom home saturday. i suggested she have the last therapy saturday before she leaves. and my prayers were answered she has agreed she NEEDS the LIFE ALERT NECKLACE. which brought tears to my eyes cuase she has been refusing it for 2 years now. i think this woke her up quite a bit. PRAISE GOD. the therapy people are coming out to the house tommorro probably to watch her get around. so nora or patty will stay the weekend with her SHE DOES NOT KNOW. but we need to be sure we can leave her alone. . i have to work 3 to 11 or 12, 1, 2.. when i ever get out and dont want to wake her up. mike will be home monday so by the time he leaves we will be able to know where we stand. OH BY THE WAY I KNOW SHE FEELS LIKE HER NORMAL SELF TODAY BECUASE SHE COMPLAINED TWICE ABOUT MY HAIR. I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE APPROPRIATE PICTURES. GRANDMA WAS MUCH BETTER TODAY AND IN A BETTER MOOD. SHE WAS ABLE TO LISTEN TO QUITAR PLAYING RIGHT OUT SIDE THE ROOM AND SHE ONLY SAT IN THE DOORWAY. AND LISTENED , I GOT TO WHEEL HER AROUND THE FACILITY TODAY AND LOOKED AT THE PHOTOGRAPHS ON THE WALLS. SHE KEPT SAYING I LIKE YOURS BETTER. I SAID THATS ALL YOU NEED TO LIKE. I WENT TO NORAS FOR DINNER AND SHE CALLED US AFTER DINNER. NORA HUNG UP THE PHONE SURPRISED SHE CALLED ,AND SAID YES SHE SOUNDS SOOOO MUCH BETTER. THEN SHE CALLED BACK AND TALKED TO ME AND STATED SHE FELT GREAT AND SHE IS GOING TO WORK HARD TOMMORRO AND BUST OUT NEXT WEEKEND. THE THERAPY AND DOCTOR DECIDES THAT THOUGH. KEEP IT UP GRANDMA/MOM

well, she is settled in had a real shower and felt like a different person. she is looking more and more like herself and acting like her self every day. thanks for your cards and prayers.

AINT NOTHIN KEEPING GRANDMA DOWN. SHE HAS BEEN DISCHARGED FROM THE HOSPITAL AT 1:15 PM TODAY AFTER GOING TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM ON THE 4TH OF FEBURARY. WOW THAT WAS A LONG STAY. SHE IS GOING TO RENICANCE REHAB CENTER IN LONGNECK. ONLY 10 MINUTES AWAY AND IT IS A FACILITY LESS THEN A YEAR OLD. TO GET HER USED TO WALKING AGAIN . SHE IS HAPPY TO GET OUT OF THE HOSPITAL YESTERDAY HAD 2 NEW ROOMATES AND THEY ARE BOTH GONE TODAY SO SHE FINALLY GOT THE HINT. HA HA. GOTTA GO TO WORK. KATIE

today grandma did not have any iv medicine, she did not have any oxygen on. when i was there the therapy came in around 11 am. she took her oxygen leve in the blood and it was 94% before doing therapy, she then walked to the elvators and sat down cuase she was getting woozy. her pulse oxygen was 91%. good amount of dropping but it recovered quickly. then she walked back to her room. her pulse raced too but she hasnt walked really for 2 weeks. she has been realeased from the heart doctor. she was a little more cranky cuase the patient down the hall sat out in the hall and talked to the staff all night. take care. keep praying.

TWO WEEKS IN THE HOSPITAL AS OF TODAY I WALKED IN AND SHE STARTED TALKING AND SMILING AND LAUGHING AND JOKING, ONLY OCCASIONAL SHORTNESS OF BREATH, SHE ATE 3 OUT OF FOUR MEALS OF ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OR CLOSE TO IT SINCE YESTERDAY. I MENTIONED I WOULD TAKE THE GARBAGE SATURDAY OR SOMETIME AND SHE SAID TO TAKE THE CASH IN DADS BOX, I ASKED CAN WE GO BUY PIZZA WITH IT CUASE YOUR NOT GOING TO PAY FOR GARBAGE THIS TIME. SHE SAID OHH I COULD EAT SOME PIZZA. SHE IS ONLY ON A HALF LITER OF OXYGEN AND THE RESPERATORY THERIPIST TURNED IT OFF TO SEE CUASE IT WAS 95 PERCENT OXYGEN IN HER BLOOD WITH ONLY A 1/2 LITER. THE DOCTORS ARE SAYING THURSDAY OR FRIDAY FOR REHABILITATION CENTER HOPEFULLY IN LONGNECK FOR A COUPLE WEEKS. SHE SAYS A WEEK BUT I THINK IT IS A REQUIREMENT WITH INSURANCE TO STAY 2 WEEKS. SOO GOOD TO SEE HER SO PERKEY THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS. KATIE, AUNT KATIE
P.S. SHE WALKED TO THE ELEVATOR TODAY SO THATS GOOD, MAYBE FROM THE LIVING ROOM CHAIR SHE SITS AT TO HER BEDROOM IN DISTANCE.

well, grandma did not have the stress test today, the doctor cancels thinking it is just electrical charging to put it in leiman terms. and the chemicals would put too much strain on lungs she was perky yesterday, today she was frustrated but breathing better, i gave her a wash on her back and a back rub and she was on top of the world. then she as able to get some congestion up from the stimulation of the back rub. then she took a pill and layed down and slept when i came back in the room she had her tray for lunch and looked like she was going to eat willingly. will start walking again tommorro. we will see what tommorro brings.

gma has been in the hosp for 10 days now. she is doing better at rest with the breathing but any type of excercise is very hard to get her breath even turning in bed. but after she settles and just sits she is fine. and can carry on a conversation. i missed the doctor today but called nora from work and she did get out of bed. lord knows where she could get a relciner in the room it is sooo tiny. but clay and becky and nora came for a visit and she did well with them. then the doctor came in and said she had another episode with the heart rate. so the rehab plans are on hold, and she will have a stress test on monday no set time. it will be a chemical stress test. soo keep her in your prayers and spread the word to people who you know will pray. i will go to sunday school and then go over cuase i have to work again tommorro. hope all your husbands and boes made today special for you.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO ALL . HOPE YOU ARE ALL TREATED WELL. mom is doing the same today but the heart is slower. she is breathing better when she is on her left side. kyles step mother came by for about 15 minutes that was nice mom did well when she was there. mike called and will be here in a couple weeks. anyone else want to come.? dont think mom will be out of rehab before that but we will see. hugs and kisses sent your way.

well i will again say what a difference a day makes. patty had a hard time finding mom today, seems they moved her to the cardiac floor and mom said not to call anyone. after the successful day moms heart rate went to 160 beats per minute normal is 80. the dr came in when i was there today and said she thinks it was the breathing treatments that were getting too much for her cuase she was getting better. so they cut those back and increased her heart medicine and hopefully it will be fine tommorro. she was very short of breath when i was there in the begining then she opened her cards and talked quite a bit. that is it for today keep praying.

WELL WHAT A DIFFERNCE A DAY MAKES. i swear this is moms MO. (this is the way it happens every time she goes into the hospital for surgery or illness) i walked in the room today she was in the chair very alert, smiling when she saw the flowers from aunt mary, read the cards i gave her and laughed at the funny ones, said she walked down to almost the nursing station which is about 2 doors away, she said it felt good.(even with shortness of breath and weakness) but continues to be short of breath at times special after excercise of any type. she said she is going to try to stay in the chair most of the day and if she cant she will sit up with every breathing treatment. i think she ate breakfast pretty good but didnt eat lunch. she said the doctor told her they are checking into rehabalitation places for a short term stay, she said she is ready to get back to normal. thanks for all the prayers. maybe they have been answered. they were answered today anyway. take care.

Well, i got to hosp at 10 am, with 3 hours of sleep but needed to be there with her. the room was dark, she was sleeping. i sat in the lounge for a while and then put my flowers down and she woke up. she had been up until five am (i was up till 430 am) she ate breakfast in chair then went back to bed. so i could have stayed in bed longer. i kept going back in to check and she was finally awake, she had about 8 ballons on the unused iv pole, the nurse ordered a peice of german chocholate cake for her and we sang happy birthday, she took one bite of food and told me to take it away. i left the cake maybe by the time she leaves the hospital she will want it. she LOVES german chocholate cake. patty stopped by and we had a chat . i left with the big boquet that mike gave her and left my 4 yellow carnations and purple and left the haynies boquet to make room on the table. i stopped by our neighbors cuase she was out an she has a bouquet the flower people dropped off from aunt mary. this wasnt too big though so she will be surprised in the morning. 2 more balloons. ha ha. soo she felt lousy but we all tried our best to help make it special as possible. take care. all the staff were pleasent and made it a point to say happy birthday or sing.

UPDATE AS OF 1130 AM 2 /10/ 09. SHE WAS BREATHING HARDER TODAY BUT TALKING BETTER AND LAUGHING WITH HER ROOMMATE SOME. SHE WALKED OUT OF HER ROOM ABOUT 4 STEPS PROGRESS FROM THE DAY BEFORE. SHE WAS MORE WINDED COME TO FIND OUT BECUASE THEY ARE TRYING TO WEAN HER OFF THE OXYGEN AND HAS HER ON 1 LITER INSTEAD OF NORMAL 2. SHE WAS ON 4 LITERS IN THE AMBULANCE SO SHE HAS MADE PROGRESS. I DONT KNOW THE RESULT OF THE BLOOD GASSES WHEN I LEFT BUT HER COLOR LOOKS BETTER. AND SHE IS MORE ALERT. DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPEND AFTER I LEFT. I WAS TOO BUSY AT WORK TO CALL FOR A UPDATE. AND 8 PM ADMISSION, SO I GOT HOME AT 230 AM. SO I AM TRYING TO UNWIND. WILL UPDATE TOMMORRO.

well i have been banned by my sisters from the hospital and church today. (i have been sick since friday but have not been near mom very much mostly in the waiting room or away from her bed in a mask.) but from the sounds of things they are pretty much the same. she is eating slightly better, was off oxygen for a while then levels dropped too low. she is sleeping a lot from the medicine. one day at a time. continue praying. thanks

grandma is much better but still has a long way to go. the new iv steroid is kicking in, she has been doing good with ensure yesterday and today, and today she ate a few bites of cottage cheese and some fruit. her heart ultrasound came out well so no problem with that. she said she stood for a while and sat on the side of the bed so thats an improvement as well. tommorro therapy said she WILL walk. we will see. keep praying for her. thanks

thank you west coast bells for the beutiful big boquet and heavy i may add. perky multicolored , big glass vase, mom loves them. she also loves the hayne grand children flowers too. they are in a tall cup, with a brown teddy bear attatched to the cup and beutiful purple flowers with babys breath. she loves them both and enjoys passing the time looking at them. she is still struggling to breath and talk but yesterday she talked a lot better around 3 pm with minium shortness of breath. that was after she rested and the new medicine to decrease the inflamation in her lungs kicked in so hopefully this will be the key and she will be much better when i go in today. thanks for your prayers.

i just died last night when i saw this. i had locked smokey up in the bathroom to save my rugs last night and after five minutes she was wanting to get out. well barney was on the window sill and jumped to the bathroom floor, sniffed and heard smokey in there and just layed down and stayed at least 15 minutes right next to the door as if to say if you have to be locked up i will be right here with you. i just melted. then all the sudden smokey stuck her paw under the door to open it yes it is not a perfect fit. barney just jumped a mile off the floor. what a response i laught for 5 or 10 minutes. smokey is making it to the litter pan so thats good. no piles all day and all night. so i will keep her out tonight. SOO I AM READY FOR A GOOD DAY. sun through today have not been good. take care.

well jessica, sickness has hit grandma bad as well, patty took the news paper in this morning and she was gasping for air. she soon realized not to fight it and we took her by ambulance to bebee hospital. when i got there there were 4 ambulances already there at 830 am. after at LEAST ten tries to get blood and ivs. and after walking to the bathroom BARELEY she was admitted bless her heart she looks great to be 80 years old on the 11th of febuary but her veins are like `100 year olds. i am sure she felt one hundred years old today. but at least we can all sleep tonight knowing she is being watched closely. just look at the face when she opened her coat this year, crying reading the card from all her children. she knows she is loved and greatful for 3 children down the road when she needs them. what a blessing. so hang in there mom got lots of people praying for you. katie

poor kitty, good and bad news today, . i woke up to 4 piles on the3 floors from both ends and i know barney stayed on the bed with me the whole time. so i said i have to get smokey checked out i have been thinking something is not right for a long time. she has lost 2 1/2 pounds in last 6 months. and a lot of muscle mass in the back legs. so i took her in to the vet and got a lot of blood work done. they came back with her and said ' i am not a happy cat' when i got to the desk i was waiting and looked in the cage she had a shaved neck with a red dot in the middle, i said i no longer blame her. i thought it was going to be the foot. so i just recieved a call and she has thyroid disease which is the most treatable of the 3 but says they usually dont last more then 11 months. i have noticed it for 6 months know so lord only knows when that decision will have to be made but i DONT have to put her to sleep this week end anyway. so thats good. i am going through my money like crazy the last two days. mom and nora are pretty sick with colds, i will go walk in the snow now. katie by the way, smokey will be `15 in may so i have been very lucky to have her that long.

even though it is 3 am on tues morning i am still considering not being late for adams birthday, it should be the 2nd until i go to bed. ANY WAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AND CONGRATS ON YOUR VERY OWN TOWN HOME AND HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR ENTIRE YEAR IN SMYRNA DELAWARE. AUNT KATIE PS I COULD have used you, my control panel on my heater broke yesterday(sunday) and i had to pay big bucks today(monday) to have it fixed but the temp only went down to 54 in the house and 37 out side so i was ok. then todays temp was in the sixtys and i layed out after the heater was fixed on the deck with a blanket over me PERFECT. the rest i needed before i went to work for 11 hours.

doesnt this look sooo peaceful. i am going to make price tags and make a list and put them in the salon. take care katie
