well, i tried to be nice and wait for nora to post her saturday happenings, but i am going to show you some of the pictures taken on my camara. sounds like they had a great time without me. mom is doing better, just battling a few things but is becoming very independent again. it is 3:25 and i am just getting in from work. so i dont feel like saying too much. enjoy. katie these are my gag gifts to her i waited 3 years to show her that picture and she found out about it cuase she was nosy. looking in envelopes when kim was home. so thats why i gave her the mat you can write on. the guests also signed it. looks great for 50 doesnt she. i was sent a birthday calendar for an email so i put noras date in and got 3 pages of info that i cut back. it was really neat. did you know she was still young enough in dogs years that she is still chasing cats. h a ha. the picture with the sign was taken sunday. and i love that cake. see ya

well, we are getting very close to letting grandma stay alone, we left her twice yesterday for an hour at a time and she has proven to us she is walking more stable and she almost independent,. she did scare us today but all is fine. she took a LONG nap this morning but nora stayed home from church and sat at the house she got up and took a shower while nora was in the bathroom and helped very little. so maybe we will just be in the house tonight maybe let her be alone. she hates all the hovering but we had to be sure. we told her about my cousins loss of her daughter yesterday and she was glad we kept it from her. i think thats why she couldnt sleep last night. cant keep a good slaight down. grandma was doing her own laundry today, she is getting fast on the walker. i helped carry close in the bedroom put them on the couch per her order. turned around mom was at the edge of the kitchen. i couldnt walk fast enough to help her down the step and into her chair. she walked around the house today 3 times just to walk with a walker. then therapy came . she is one determined lady. this picture is curtesy of barb who went to aunt peggys funeral, this was at the end of the gathering. stella has never changed everyone looked great. toodles. katie

MOM WAS THE BEST TODAY I HAVE SEEN HER SINCE JANUARY, she was cheerful, joking with staff, my pastor stopped by and it didnt bother her a bit. i missed him by a few minutes. then nora came by. she is released by the stomach doctor today. here is the view from her window. the close up you can see the water better but dont like the picture as much, i like the other picture better. lewis is very historic. take care and thanks for the prayers and thoughts. katie she said today as she sat up ALL day she saw 2 ferry boats come in.

mom is doing better today, her stomach is better, her blood is way to thin though and she got a shot of vitamin k when i was there to help her clot. in mean time she has to be very careful, she will be in another 4 or 5 days regardless of how she is feeling cuase of the antibiotic she is getting intervenously. i will take my camara tommorro and try to get a picture of the view from her room. beutiful. my heart is heavy for julia my cousin, my aunt peggy lost her battle of brain cancer today. as julia said last week she hopes there is a HUGE MALL for aunt peggy to shop at. and of course LOTS OF republicans she can converse with and demacrats she wants to convert. here are a few pictures. taken in the fall or around there REPUBLICAN OF THE YEAR WAY TO GO. she was an awesome lady and will be missed. JULIA was a GREAT DAUGHTER i am sure aunt peggy was extreamly proud of her. love you julie. julia is ready to catch her, she has been falling alot in the last couple years which lead to the diagnosis of brain cancer. fighten for the republican party till the end.

grandma /mom is out of ccu after 5 days i met her in room 527 today, therapy came in and could only walk her to the door with no energy and shortness of breath. so they sat down for a couple minutes and tried again so she walked farther all together then yesterday, yesterday she walked 45 feet, today she walked 60feet all together. so thats good. still got a long way to walk before she can go home and be able to walk the bottom floor. one day at a time keep fighting mom. while mom was doing therepy i sat out in the lobby and read the paper we got with our paychecks a newsletter. on the last page it said i hear we have an artist in our staff. she said 3 to 11 nurse is selling beutiful landscape pictures. i was a little surprised, it then said can you guess who.? i thought i am sure they all know by now. ha ha mom was happy about that . talk to you again. katie

well grandmas vitals are better, the doctor said the medicine is helping her stomach, she still has one spot bothering her, she was up in chair 3 or 4 hours yesterday and today, i keep missing that part. they gave her back the clear liquids before i left she sucked the orange sherbert down i kept telling her to slow down. she had it taken away last time so i think she wanted to get it down before loosing it. ha ha. SHE IS HOWEVER STARTING TO BREATH BAD AGAIN SHE WAS JUST LAYING IN BED. happy birthday to aron my sweet god child, i guess he isnt anymore but i still consider him that. i think that stops at 18 HAPPY 24 BIRTHDAY . ACTUALLY IT WAS YESTERDAY BUT HE WAS CELEBRATING WITH HIS BROTHER IN PHILIDELPHIA. YOUR A GREAT NEPHEW AND I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU. LOVE YOU MUCH. THE TEMP WAS A LITTLE WARMER TODAY, I HAD A GREAT WALK IN LEWIS THEN TO BIDE TIME BEFORE GOING TO CHURCH I LAYED ON THE BEACH FOR 2O MINUTES. HAD THE TOWEL IN MY CAR FOR SOME REASON. well, i got my camara out you asked for it barb ha ha. i first went to the beach the temp was 70 and calm and sunny. when i got to the hall of ccu, nora was there saying we could not see her the nurses were busy with her. they were supposed to start feeding her today, the respiratory therapist set the tray up mom was looking forward to it. then the general surgen came in and the y decided since she had pain in her stomach still they put her back on ice chips. she had two bites of cream of wheat first. ha ha. she is now on 2 antibiotics, one for stomach and one for urine infection. she she is now back on the list of possible surgery for her stomach pains. her blood pressure continues to be very low, they are concerned about that too but her resperations and shortness of breath is fine in the bed. she got up 31/2 hours today before we got there. mike said good by to all of us in the room then again in the garage. thats all for now enjoy the pictures.

well, grandma was more alert today, chattering a way to mike still very groggy. she can have clear liquids today so mike and charolette took me to eat at the buttery, that is where aron works, the food is G R E A T!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAD a cheese and cracker plate as an appitizer along with 2 different breads. i had the BEST macaroni and chees i have ever had. it was crusted (TOPPING) had broccly and ham. MMMMMMM good .mike and charolette are sadly leaving tommorro. honest the are hear, i can not seem to get my camara out running around with grandma i just havent thought about it. guess i will try again today.and the weather will be 70 degrees. what a difference a week makes, we came into a snowstorm now leasves in the spring. by for now it is 3am.

well grandma looks better then she did this morning. but she was soooooo drugged on pain med she slept at least 7 hours she would wake up make it through a sentance and go back to sleep. she ached all day but no severe pain like last night. BUT BOY DID THE DOCTOR HIT THE RIGHT SPOT WHEN SHE POKED IN HER BELLY, I THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING TO FLY OUT OF THE BED.general surgeon said no surgery was neccessary so that is good. thanks patty and nora and mike and charlotte for pitching in when i cant. i did call out of work today but dont think i will get away with it tommorro. from any of my family anyway.

WELL AS I TYPED LAST NIGHT MOM WAS ON THE WAY TO HOSPITAL BUT NO ONE CALLED TILL THIS MORNING, SHE HAS JUST BEEN ADMITTED TO BEEBE AGAIN IN ICU, SHE HAD A CAT SCAN AND IT SHOWED DIFITICULITIS (INTESTINAL) AND HER OXYGEN LEVELS ARE GOING UP AND DOWN , SO I AM ON THE WAY NOW. SORRY MIKE YOUR NOT HAVING A GOOD VACATION. SHE IS TIRED AND SICK OF BEING SICK. STAY TUNED.

well mom had an appitite at lunch, she kept asking for thing.s the doctor gave her bloodwork and chest xray. put her back on oxygen for 2 weeks continues then start to wean her off hopefully, this will probably decrease the need for a nerve medicine for anxiety that she has taken almost regular for last few days. hopefully will be info tomorro. they increased her fluid pill so the swelling can go down in her legs and feet. hopefully she is still sleeping at220 am. i just got home at two. will try to get pictures of the golden boy tommorro.

well, grandma is definetly backsliding, no energy, short distances before getting really short of breath. i had yesterday off and was there most of day, the home health nurse came and could not get the blood for her coumadin so she took an unexpected trip to millsboro where they got the blood with the first stick. that wore her out, then she took a forty five minute name when i did at home but after i went back to her she had company kyle and wade and she would talk coherently and laugh a little but her eyes were closed most of the time. even through her little dinner she had. i had a camara ready for her falling on the food but that didnt happen. she gave up could not go any longer at 730 she went to bed and slept straight through to 530 am YES NO BREATHING TREATMENTS SINCE FOR THE AFTERNOON BEFORE. she takes them every 4 hours while awake. they started her back on the water pill yesterday and i think that helped too. she is now at the doctors office. she definetly needs oxygen at home so hopefully she will get that order nora and mike took her i am going to bed. i stayed with her last night but didnt get much sleep. her body needed that long rest. maybe she can be stronger today and sleep like that again. A HUGE PRAYER REQUEST FOR MY COUSIN KATHY JO WHO SOMEHOW LOST HER DAUGHTER SHE PASSED AWAY THURSDAY BUT DONT HAVE ANY CONCRETE DETAILS SHE IS ONLY IN HER LATE 20S OR EARLY 30S. I HAVE BEEN BROKEN HEARTED SINCE I FOUND OUT. i remember her when she was 5 years old beutiful blonde hair. she has a younger brother and sister. WE HAVE DECIDED NOT TO TELL MOM SHE DOES NOT NEED THIS NEWS RIGHT NOW. i will update you on the dr visit tonight.

WELL, WE WAITED TILL MARCH SECOND TO GET A REAL SNOWSTORM. MORE THEN AN INCH. BUT AS DELAWARE STYLE PROCEEDS, WE MUST FIRST HAVE ICE THEN THE SNOW. I LEFT WORK AT 1140 PM 40 MINUTES AWAY. I GOT HOME AT 1AM. WHEN I GOT TO MILLSBORO 10 MINUTES AWAY THE WIND KICKED UP AND I WAS BLINDSIDED (O VISISABLITY) I CAME HOME TO NO ELECTRIC ABOUT 2 OCLOCK THE PHONE RAIN, NORA CHECKING ON ME. THEN MOM NEEDED A BREATHING TREATMENTS. HERE WE GO AGAIN. I WALKED DOWN AROUND 8 AM TO CHECK THE VITAL SIGNS WE HAVE TO REPORT EVERY DAY AND BEFORE SHE CAN TAKE A PILL, SHE IS WHEEZING BAD, SHE CAME OUT OF THE BATHROOM AND SHOOK HER HEAD, "I WISH I FELT BETTER'. SO YOU CAN START PRAYING PLEASE WE DONT BACK SLIDE TOO FAR. THANKS TO THE NEIGHBOR AL PARTYCA FOR TAKING CARE OF US. HE BROUGHT HIS SNOW PLOW UP THE DRIVEWAY. I JUST GOT A VIDEO OF BARNEY WHEN SHE DID GET UP THE NERVE TO GO OUT. SHE WAS FUNNY. MOM RE READ HER CARDS WITH HER FEET UP. THEY ARE SWOLLEN. AS YOU CAN SEE WE HAVE AT LEAST AN INCH OF ICE ON THE ROAD.
